Professor Joshua Burns is Head of School and Dean of the Sydney School of Health Sciences and Professor of Pediatric Neuromuscular Rehabilitation in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. He is also the Director of the Paediatric Gait Analysis Service of New South Wales at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.
Professor Burns is a world authority on peripheral neuropathy of childhood. He is the inventor of Clinical Outcome Measures, a web-based scoring system for monitoring response to therapy, housing key clinical trial endpoints such as the Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease Pediatric Scale (CMTPedS), CMT Infant Scale (CMTInfS), CMT Functional Outcome Measure (CMT-FOM), CMT Neuropathy Score (CMTNS) and items from the 1000 Norms Project.
