I met New York Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand at an event in NYC two years ago. Impressed with her history of advocacy, I reached out to the Senator about The Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation and our ongoing efforts to find a cure for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
Senator Gillibrand has graciously shown her recognition of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Awareness Month by sharing a letter about HNF’s mission, the importance of greater awareness, and the need for increased research and clinical trials:
“It is my hope that our collective advocacy and greater awareness will increase global awareness of this disease.”
Advocacy is crucial to the success of our strategic initiatives to find a cure for CMT. I would like to thank the Senator on behalf of HNF and the entire CMT community for her generous support.
